Chips n Wedges

Chips n Wedges is a fun golf chipping game that takes a fun and relaxed approach to improving your chipping, or just having fun with your friends.

The Rules

Scoring

  • Each player starts with 300 points.
  • Points from shots made are subtracted from starting score. First person or team to 0 wins, or closest to 0 at the end of the match.
  • Example if playing doubles: Each team starts with 600 pts, teams of three would start with 900 pts, and so on. Official CW League only allows singles or doubles.
  • Each player (singles or teams) starts with 11 balls at the beginning of each round (10 white + 1 colored ball).
  • Colored ball is worth double.
  • All multipliers explained below are able to stack for any hole the ball is made into.

Chipping Board Placement for Each Round

The front of the platform facing the board will be placed at the following distances for each round:

  • Round 1: 5 yards
  • Round 2: 10 yards
  • Round 3: 15 yards

Boundaries (CW League Specific Rule)

  • Hitting out of bounds results in a 5 point penalty. Boundaries are defined as a 10 foot width shooting lane running from chipping platform to the 10 ft wide net placed behind the board. Any ball that goes past the net in any fashion is a 5 point penalty. Boundaries remain the same for all 3 rounds.

Hole Values

  • Square: 10
  • Circles: 30
  • Small circle: automatic win, or 100 pts if it’s a bump and run.

Bump and Runs

  • Bump and runs are worth 1/2 (anything that hits the ground first, or hits the board outside of the colored borders of holes before going in.

Calling Your Shot

  • Calling correct hole to make it in is worth 2X (limited once per round), if you make a different hole than predicted it is worth 0. You must call your shot before moving ball from tray to turf area.

Blindfolded Team Shot

  • Limited to one player per match
  • Worth 3X: teams only
  • One player directs blindfolded team mate to line up a shot. Limited to once per match. Only one player on a team with have the opportunity to shoot this shot. Only one person per team is allowed to direct the other player.

Miscellaneous

  • 1 club change per match
  • In the case of a tie, sudden death shoot off from 15 yards. Opposing player of first shot made has a chance to rebuttle for a chance to make the equivalent valued hole or better. If a higher valued hole is made during a rebuttle shot, the other player must now make the higher valued hole or better. First person to miss or make a lesser valued hole loses.
